The Queen Mary 2, the world's largest cruise liner, was in the Harbour for the first time this morning ... panorama. The Queen Elizabeth 2 arrived in the evening ... panorama ... and the city was full of large crowds coming to gawk at the ships and watch the fireworks in the evening. The traffic gridlock was phenomenal! The hooting of the ships to each other as the QE2 passed the docked QM2 was an amazing stereophonic effect in the city canyons -- highly reminiscent, I thought, of the synth music of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
